Lead UI/UX Developer

Austin, TX


Job Summary:
The UI/UX Developer is responsible for th overall usability of our
client's internally developed software. In this role, you must be able
to understand end-user workflows and design user interfaces that are
intuitive and optimize workflow. We are looking for someone who is
passionate about user-centered design and usability in general, with the
ability to create both compelling concepts and work through complex
details. You should have experience working in collaborative
environments, integrating user-centered design, technology, and business
strategy, and managing clients. As an UI/UX Developer, you will work
with other system architects, partners, and customers to refine product
requirements, define the software architecture, design and implement
products. You will also participate as a member of an Agile team of
software developers during the design, implementation, integration,
testing, and successful delivery of our software. You must enjoy working
with teams, taking initiative, and innovating.
 
Requirements:
  • Oversee and grow the UXD practice, including but not limited to defining and promoting adoption of UX methods, best practices, tools, user
    training/education and evangelizing about user experience within the
    organization and client base
  • Serve as the UX Architect, responsible for planning, documenting, and managing the UX workstream, defining the interaction design principles, and
    contributing to and/or overseeing aspects of the user interface design
    and development (visual design, UI development, user
    testing/evaluations, etc.) and overall solution adoption
  • Contribute to the harvesting and subsequent application of insights from customer projects and custom applications to inform and inspire the design and
    productions of repeatable industry solutions and product innovations
  • Contribute to the articulation and sharing of BancVue Interactive UX related intellectual capital, innovations, and best practices (e.g., UI Design
    Patterns, UI Component Libraries, User Experience Models, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the various discipline team leads to ensure effective UX execution and continuous improvement of methodologies, service offerings,
    products, and solutions
  • Plan, lead and execute the UX work stream for selected front end consulting/service projects for customers that will help generate new
    concepts and input for future front end product and solution innovations
 
Preferred Experience:
  • 3 or more years experience in combination of business/user experience consulting and/or interactive product/solution design
  • 3 or more years experience working with cross functional teams and collaborating closely with developers
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Cognitive Science, Human Factors,
    Psychology, or related field(s)
  • Cross functional and knowledgeable in the facets of people centered design and user experience spanning research to modeling, user interface design,
    user assessment methods, and user adoption
  • Ability to rapidly understand and balance the intersection and impact of back end and front end technologies in user experience/user interface
    solutions
  • Practical understanding of visual design and presentation technologies, including but not limited to RIAs such as AJAX and Flash/Flex, as well as
    fundamental rapid prototyping with XHTML, CSS, Omnigraffle, pencil &
    paper
  • Experience with advanced business analytic suites, data consumption and mining, dashboard development and delivery, and complex database and content
    management systems
  • Experience and expertise in agile design and development methodologies
Web Designer
Austin, TX
 
We are currently seeking a full time web designer. You will drive the conceptualizing, design, and development of multiple online projects. There is some print design
involved, but the bulk of your design will live online.
 
That said, this is strictly a design position. No coding is involved, but an understanding of the process is very helpful. Above all, your design skills are outstanding, but you
don’t just design to design. There has to be function to your form. You
can successfully interpret the client’s goals into a captivating, yet
practical, design that hits the target audience.
 
A little about you
 
While it’s true not everything fits into nice, neat categories, candidates should meet the following criteria to be considered for the position:
 
  • Design degree and 2-5 years professional web design experience
  • You know you are the best and your portfolio showcases it
  • Your designs are fresh, clean, and cutting edge
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects with strict deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and research skills
  • Sensitivity to typography, color and layout–you know when things just “look right”.
  • Willingness to keep pace with the latest internet technologies and design innovations
  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite in Mac platform
  • The ability to transform the big idea into a functional interface design
  • Strong communication skills across multiple teams
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong, working familiarity with Flash and HTML

Flash Designer
Austin, TX
 
We are currently seeking a full time Flash designer. You will drive the conceptualizing, design, and development of multiple Flash projects.
 
That said, this is strictly a design position. No coding is involved, but an understanding of the process is very helpful. Above all, your design skills are outstanding, but you don’t just design to
design. There has to be function to your form. You can successfully

Candidate should demonstrate experience working with/implementing:
  • Action Script 2&3 (at least 2 years)
  • Modeling interactive site navigation patterns
  • Interfacing with web services and XML utilization via Action Script
  • Media players, streaming video and audio

A big Plus:
  • Strategically architecting re-usable components in Action Script3 and OOP.
  • Proficiency in After Effects and 3D modeling

Other desirable skills
  • XHTML, CSS and JavaScript/AJAX
  • PHP/MySQL5
  • Web analytics (preferably Omniture Site Catalyst)

Front End Web Developer

We are presently interviewing Front End Web Developers to join our team in Austin, TX.  You would be responsible for taking newly designed sites from inception to completion, while maintaining critically high
standards for quality control. These are not your mother’s websites–
these are cutting edge designs that you will be proud to have in your
portfolio.

 
ABOUTYOU
·         Advanced level experience with XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript – defined as the
ability to hand code, analyze, debug, and deliver clean, validated, maintainable code
·         Accustomed to rigid QA processes and extreme attention to detail
·         Excellent understanding of the web development project cycle
·         Strong background in usability, information architecture, and willingness to keep up with the latest in internet technologies
·         Bachelor’s degree(or career equivalent) with 2+years experience in Web Production or similar environment
·         Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and research skills
·         Strong cross team project management and communication skills in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
·         Proficient with programs such as Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and  other web and multimedia development tools
·         Familiarity with website accessibility and Section 508 requirements (Americans with Disabilities Act)
