User Experience / Interface designer position available at Tk20, Inc.

Tk20 is based in Austin, TX and is looking to hire an User Experience/ Interface Designer responsible
for creating wireframes and coding HTML mock-ups of our web-based software. The ideal candidate will understand user-centered design (UCD) methodology and best practices and will be able to translate the requirements gathered by Product Consultants into an interactive prototype. He or she will also have a basic understanding of web accessibility guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather business, interface and data structure requirements for interactive Web and Mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with the development and product teams to control product look-and-feel across all products and to ensure the best user experience.
  • Prepare interactive mock-ups
  • Produce project deliverables such as mock-ups, wireframes, and user-interface elements.
  • Create and maintain design style guide across all company’s products.
  • Participate in usability testing.
  • Develop, document and employ user interface best practices and interaction patterns.

Requirements:

  • Online portfolio with samples of previous software interface design
  • Experience with heuristic analysis and usability testing processes.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and cross-browser compatibility issues

Bonus Skills:

  • Knowledge of Javascript and jQuery or other javascript libraries
  • Knowledge of progressive enhancement design techniques
  • Thorough understanding of web accessibility standards and requirements
  • Knowledge of WAI-ARIA
